Environmental Monitoring System
Our system
Omnetica has developed an advanced IoT environmental monitoring system designed to collect real-time data and information on temperature, humidity, weather events (such as rain or strong winds), possible flooding and movement. Through an intuitive web interface, users can view all monitored environmental parameters in a clear and organised manner, as well as configure alarm thresholds and notification methods.
Software
The software is a comprehensive web-based platform for environmental monitoring, weather station management and smart sensors. It allows real-time data visualisation, historical analysis, notification management and customisation of the user experience.
Displays a list of available stations. The user can select a station to access real-time data and advanced functions.

Hardware
Modular Station Environmental Monitoring System
The system consists of a central weather station powered by a solar panel, designed to operate in remote or agricultural environments.
The system is modular, scalable and suitable for remote settings, guaranteeing continuous monitoring even in the absence of electrical or fixed grid infrastructure.
- Air temperature and humidity
- Atmospheric pressure
- Wind speed and direction
- Rain, solar radiation and other meteorological parameters
To send the collected data to a central server, the station can use different communication systems, which can be selected according to distance and site conditions:
- WiFi: for coverage of less than 5 km
- LoRa: for coverage between 1 and 5 km
- LoRa with repeaters: for coverage of more than 5 km
- 433 MHz RF (Short Range): for short-range coverage
One or more “sensor spheres”, peripheral nodes placed in or near the ground, are connected to the station. The spheres communicate directly with the station, usually via short-range connections (e.g. RF 433 MHz or dedicated low-power protocols), and detect data such as:
- Soil moisture and temperature
- Local environmental conditions
- Specific parameters related to agriculture or the ecosystem
Each unit (both the central station and the spheres) can be powered in one of the following ways:
- Internal rechargeable battery
- Power supply via cable
- Self-powering via solar panels
